first you should Find relevant key words and meta description.
- submit the the url to google
2.submit the url to bing(yahoo could take your website link from bing url submission)
3.start a google+ profile for your website(add website url to your google+ profile)
4.start a facebook page for your website.(add website url to your facebook page)
5.if your website is for some special kind of software/articles/products/ ..you can make a wikipedia page and add the website url

I would suggest to increase ranking for your website. You should follow different platform like Google plus, facebook, pinterest, stumbleupon these are the right platform and high pr website to increase the traffic. You should also article and PR SUbmission. That is enough to get the well rank.
