OK thanks for looking. I do not know flash or after effects. I'm actuallly posting on behalf of a work colleague who is having a problem.
We are trying to export from after effects to a format that we can then bring into flash. The resulting file however must have a transparent background.
It is a glowing light animation so the Alpha channel support is really important. We have been trying to get this for the best part of a day.
Anyone with any helpful info would be great.

Just wanted to reply to let anyone looking at the post in the future to know that the problem wasn't in what we thought we had to do it was in the fact that we had downloaded a trial copy of After Effects which has a number of options completely missing from it, without, as far as I can tell a word from Adobe.
So if you are working on a trial copy then just be aware that it is NOT feature complete.
