My Toshiba laptop starts to boot, but the Toshiba logo dissappears in a second and just idles on the black screen with the underscore in the top left, Please Help.

It may have tried to read some data in your cd/dvd drives... Remove any cd/dvd and any usb that stick inside your computer. It should do the trick...
