First let me explain that I have little technical skill. I have used by laptop for 2 or 3 years fine. A week ago it started to intermittently NOT START. I mean nothing. No response to start button -- even battery charge led won't come on. After fussing around with reset button, etc and hitting start button frequently it came on a few times. Now nothing with all combinations of battery only, wall power supply only, etc. A friend of mine who is quite knowledgeable says Mother Board problems.

Before going in that deep check board, etc. for dust/lint contamination, clean as necessary.
Prob. could be just a faulty switch. Over a long period of time switches oxidize(rust), get dirty, burn out, or just plain wear out.
