I just bought a new CD-ROM/DVD/CD-R/CD-RW drive and put it in my computer. And the drive opens up and when I put a CD in of some sort...it doesn't read the disc!? And in My Computer....there is no picture of the D:/ drive ..where all the other drives are. I shut my computer off and turned it back on again and it detects 'New Hardware' and does the install part and it can't found anything to install with the hardware....Can somebody please tell me whats wrong/what to do!
My specs:
Rosewill Combo DRIVE CD-ROM/DVD/CD-R/CD-RW
Dell D-8200
P4 Windows XP 1.8

Have you plugged the new drive to a connector on an already used connector cable? If so, did you change he drive's jumper setting to 'master' or 'slave' accordingly?
