Hello

Could anyone tell me the difference between a /8 and /16 on a rambus rimm? E.g. 256MB/8 and 256MB/16.

We are thiking of buying some for an old Dell Xeon I think it is a Precision 530. The RAM previously in it was Samsung 256MB/8. Will the /16 work?

Thanks for any help

I suspect that the number of pins on the 256/8 and 256/16 is different and the 256/16 may not be compatible with the mobo.
