Could anyone tell me the difference between a /8 and /16 on a rambus rimm? E.g. 256MB/8 and 256MB/16.
We are thiking of buying some for an old Dell Xeon I think it is a Precision 530. The RAM previously in it was Samsung 256MB/8. Will the /16 work?

correction if anyone read what i first posted
. it means pc800 and pc1600 and may not be compatible with the board .
