Im Not to good with computers. I have a dell dimension 4550 that wont power on, I push the power button but get nothin. I opened the machine and saw a green light on where the power is. So I know it is getting power but wont power on. Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

The green light only means that the 5 volt standby is working, nothing more. There should be some diagnostic led's on the back. Unplug then replace the mains lead and see if they show anything. You also need to have a look at the capacitors on the motherboard to see if any of them have domed tops as this is a very common problem with that range of machines (I replaced 6 caps on a customers Dimension 8400 2 days ago for an example). If any caps are blown then you will need to seek professional help as decent quality soldering equipment is needed for that task.
