I've been having this problem for about 1 week now. My computer monitor looks like it's in 8bit color when there is a gradient on the screen. Take Steam for example, the store page at the bottom is black then it gets greyer as it reaches the top. In my computer it is all blocky when it changes colors instead of a smooth transaction.

I've tried to draw in photoshop what it looks like -

I've just bought a new video card about 1 month ago so it can't be that. Also when it turn my computer on the monitor doesn't turn on, i have to turn it on and off a couple of times for the monitor to work.

Is there a fix or do i need to buy a new monitor?

What version of windows are you using and have you checked your graphics card drivers?
You should also check for malware as steam users are sometimes targeted by hackers!
