i was doing some game playing and stop to check to see if i could download something. when i started my game back up, iwasn't getting any sound. i tried reinstalling the updated drivers for the nvidia nforce chipset, but it just won't take. i don't have the slightest idea what i could be doing or not doing? evry time i install, everything works but the sound. i have win xp, amd antolon xp 2600, 512 ddr memory, 2.1 speakers kinda new(few months old) could some one shed some light on this situation?

Very odd that you swiched out of the game one day and the sound went poof. Press start, go to run, type dxdiag and press enter. Go to the sound tab and run tests. See if it generates any errors.
