For awhile now I have been in an endless cycle configuring updates. After I install the updates and reboot it says configuring updates 1 of 3. Then when it is finished it says updates were not configured correctly reverting changes. Needless to say I have a lot of uninstalled updates. How can I fix this?

Me too. It costed me to download and install that big SP1 and I plan to turn of because it won't even download. I don't know what is wrong with Vista Home Premium in my Laptop??

I believe that I have finally found the solution to this problem. I manually installed "Update for Windows Vista (KB950127)" and that seems to have fixed the problem. Here is the link for that update.
