ipod touch internet, no wi-fi

Hi can someone help me i have a acer Aspire5622WLMI laptop.
i heard that you can get internet on your ipod touch without having wi-fi, you just run it through your computer.
But i cant figer out how to do it, could someone please help me?

my first instinct is not likely,it has to connect via wifi ,but i didn't google it yet
