hello.......i have a dell inspiron 530 and my os is windows vista..

I have no sound and do not know how to get it back...can anybody help me please...i recently downloaded the 8.2 version of itunes dont know if this is relevant or not.........

  • Check in Device Manager to ensure device driver hasn't been knocked out
  • Check Mixer (accessible via icon in Sys Tray), to ensure sound simply not muted
  • Go to Control Panel > Sounds, just make sure your speakers are active and set as default
  • Also, a number of sound card manufacturers have their own control panel - have a look there also and see if all is setup as it should be.

Sing out if you get stuck or we need to investigate further. By the way, what sound card is installed, as noticed that model offers either RealTek HD or Creative SoundBlaster
