Hi everyone!! ,

I have just joined a new laptop running Windows XPPro to a Win 2003 domain.
I would like to access everything that I have installed in the local computer when I am connected to the domain.
Could you please give detailed instructions on how to do this ???

Thank you so much for your help !!

Thank you Frank for your response !. Yes it is exactly what I need, to access everything that was installed locally in my laptop before joining the domain.

You will be able to access the data or the programs installed in ur
computer even after u join this computer to domain.

Sorry, I said it wrong !. I want the desktop, Outlook and everything else to look the same either if I'm working locally or connected to the domain.

Note that when u join a computer to a WinServer 2003 domain,
The computer becomes a part of Domain and the users using
that computer can access the resources of AD(Active Directory) eg.
Printer, Data and other stuff.

When u will join ur computer to WinServer 2003 domain, a
domain user profile will be created in ur computer which will be used to log u into ur computer as a domain user.

Otherwise I dont think the ur desktop or any other folder
will have any effect if u join this computer to domain.

Even after joining ur computer to domain, u will have the option to log into ur computer either as a domain user or a local user.

You will only have problem accessing ur programs if the program file
gets corrupted, otherwise u wont have problems.

I hope this is clear
