have got no sound since reinstalling XP HOME coz BIOS crash.
Have lost everything:(
C MEDIA sound card.
no system sound:(
no sound atall:(
cmicnfg.cpl on start up

all you had to do was install new battery and set bios defaults and fix the time /date ! never heard of having to reinstall windows for that reason.

It sounds like you have not installed you sound card drivers, if you have a separate sound card, use the CD that came with the sound card.
If your sound is integrated in your motherboard, use the Cd that came with your PC or motherboard. If you have trouble, search on line for "installing sound device drivers"
How do you know you had a BIOS crash?
Did you do anything to cause a BIOS crash?
Did you do anything to fix it before reinstalling Windows?

Simply,you may drive selected from CD can be read.......... Further format the existing window and start installation process, you will no problem and it will be working after completing step by step instruction
