About a week ago I was in the middle of playing a game online having the game open and ventrillo open. Out of nowhere my sound gets all distorted. I wasn't downloading anything it just changed. Now If I try to watch you tube I can hear the music and maybe some ambient sounds, but the voices can hardly be heard. There's also some weird sound along with everything else. I tried looking for windows updates or updated drivers, but that didn't work. I tried the device manager and there were no errors there...Any ideas?

Kind of sounds like the sound is in a hall...like effects are being applied.

I have had the same problem, that is exactly what it is. the problem was that the Mixer had been deleted somehow and I could not fix it. I had to uninstall the base codecs and reinstall. (only adviseable if you have the drivers on a Utilites CD), esp if you are a newbe
