Outlook 2003 is taking about 1 min - 1:30 mins to start. The folders and messages appear but it's got an hour glass there for the rest of time. I have stopped Messenger starting but it doesn't seem to have made any difference.

any ideas. I'm running XP (SP2)

thanks

I would suggest 2 things.
First erase any email that you don't really need. When outlook loads
up, it scan the whole data file containing the emails.
Second thing is to defrag your HD. This could help speed up things,
including outlook...

I concur. You could also try compacting your data file once you've deleted the redundant mails.

I had this problem after installing 2800 fonts on my computer.

After I cancelled the fonts, everything come back to normal : outlook started again in less 1 second.
