hi im trying to set up a web hosting service using iis .

i have a domain name from godaddy.com
i used zoneedit.com free name server services to assign ns for my ip to mydomain.com
i set up iis server . now here is the problem i can access the webpage mydomain.com on my local network.
when i tell people to browse the site it doesnt work.
im on isp optonline and they use a dynamic ip ,which i wrote above already attached that ip to an ns .
i changed the port from 80 to 8000.
i port forwared on my linksys start 8000 end 8000 in the linksys menu.i still cant get one to reach it. any one can help me on this thanks

your router needs to route all port 80 requests from the outside world to the ip adress of the w2003 machine

hi yes i got it to work now.
i changed port 80 on my iis server to port 8000.
but now i have a new issue . where i need to type in
mydomain.com:8000 to access my page is there a way to change this so i would only need to type in mydomain.com? thanks
