when installing windows 98 on my newly built pc I get to the
searching of plug-ins and it then hangs, this has happened multiple
times so please could anyone give me some suggestions:confused:
I have a XFX geforce 6600gt and soundcard already plugged in is

It is a clean install and I only have a genuine windows 98 but I have
a windows xp upgrade which I will be putting on over it

hi ,you don't need to install win98 first to use the upgrade ,you just use xp and when asked you put the win98 cd in as proof of ownership of previous version, win98
