Hello all. I bought my pc from a retailer, (hp) and i am planning to install a brand new harddrive in it with a clean windows xp install (retail version). Im wondering if that would cause any hardware/software conflicts or anything of that nature. (causing windows to not be able to activate etc.)

Also, will i be able to reconnect the original harddrive and have it function normally, if i decide to do so?

Any comments appreciated, thanks in advance.

It should not cause any conflicts regaurding activation, you will just have to go through the activation process easy peasy. However installing a new hard drive will almost certainly void your warrenty.

Yes you should beable to reconnect the old hardrive no problem.
