After I click my Windows XP accoutn to log in, the screen goes black and it doesn't load.
In safe mode, I did a system restore. I restarted, no go.
I went to safe-mode, clicked AVG 7.5, it loads for 2 seconds, then black screen again.
CPU and Hard drive are both running, so I think it's software.
Help.....Only thing that's in common is black screen.

Same as you. If I can't get further in safe mode, I would boot from the Windows CD an effect a Windows repair.
If that didn't work, I'd stream off my important data via a second PConto which I'd put my HD (USB enclosure) …

If that didn't work, I'd stream off my important data via a second PConto which I'd put my HD (USB enclosure) and wipe everything to rebuild the system.
