I have a Dell GX150 with windows 2000. There have been no new installations, drivers, or anything changed. This machine satys on most ofthe time, 24 hours a day. One day out of the blue, I notice it's off. When I try to restart, it gets to the third splash screen, Windows 2000, the bar goes to 3/4 of the way, then I see the keyboard lights flash, the bar goes the rest of the way and it powers off and reboots.

I am able to hit F8 to choose bootup mode, but no matter which one I pick, the same thing happens. I have replaced the power supply, makes no difference. I pulled out the empty expansion PCI rack, makes no difference.

I pulled the hard drive out, put it in another machine and it boots fine.

Any suggestions?

Something has caused your PC to turn off and I suggest has fried a component or damaged RAM in a spike.

Something like that.
