hi,

i bought a western digital my book live a few months back. it's a 1TB version.

Is there anything good i can do with it like use it as an FTP or anything?

And how can i download files directly to it?

If you take a look at the User Guide, page 69, it shows that FTP is disabled by default. You have to enable it if you want to use FTP to transfer files to and from this device.

Otherwise, according to the doc, you can map a network drive, or access the device using a web browser, of course all assuming that you have properly configured the network interface.
