I completely agree with Google on this one, as I'm sure (or at least I hope) most of you guys are too. As EVERYONE who plays the seo game knows, sometimes there are good months, sometimes there are bad months. If I get deindexed by Google, I lost a good …

Do you mean just adding features to it? Most of vBulletin's features can be added to phpBB via mods. Check the official phpbb.com website and also check Patrick's site phpbbhacks.com - If you have some loose change hanging around, you could hire a developer to create unique features for you, …

So I'm a bozo now am I? :-P j/k See ... I'm not so sure that manual submission is the way to go. There's another thread somewhere on DaniWeb where I talk about that. Generally speaking, all youreally need to do is get other sites to link to you, and …

I look at a title like that and the first thing that comes to my mind is, "You're an inexperienced SEO who created that title for SEO's sake" ... I have another thread around here somewhere where I explain that the best way to do SEO is to not do …

I don't either ... remember, Google Sitemaps will not get more pages indexed than if you weren't using it. It is just an aid to give google a smarter crawl by specifying which pages you want Google to focus more on. Of course, whether those pages are actually crawled and …

I'm confused. What is GBuy? What I don't like about PayPal is their reputation for freezing accounts, chargebacks, etc. I'm always afraid to leave a lot of money in my PalPal balance despite the high interest from their money market fund.

I'm not quite sure at all why you were having problems with apostrophes. I tried duplicating the problem but was unable to. Being lifted from featured status is a bug on my end, that I will fix. The problem is that editing an entry is just like creating a new …

Why do you need to accept credit cards. I can understand why it's necessary with retail, but if you're looking to sell advertising space, I don't think it's necessary. I've been doing just fine betweeen my PayPal account, direct deposit bank transfers, and mailed checks, and have never lost a …

I believe that the FastClick ad network pays via PayPal, so check it out. Google AdSense also has an option to direct deposit to a bank account. I'm not sure if that is a U.S.-only feature.

YPN is supposedly only wanting to work with US traffic right now. Do they filter international traffic on their end, or is it the job of my ad server (which is geotargeting capable)? Do blank spots show up for non-US users?

As I'm sure you've experienced, when code snippet lines get way too long, a horizontal scrollbar automatically appears to accomidate this. Since code snippets are a fixed height, that extra space is reserved to make room for a scrollbar if one is needed.

I design for IE. I make sure it's always 100% compatible with FireFox. I'm still an IE fan, folks. Sorry. However, I have to admit, that some things do look a little funky in FireFox 1.0 that I haven't bothered to deal with since they're fine in 1.5. I know …

What functionality do you need? You might want to check out script directories such as www.hotscripts.com

I am VERY surprised that membership grew that much from sending out spam. Usually, doing so only irritates the receivers of the email. It's very possible that to make the new forum look active, the owner registered under mutliple usernames. Who knows.

There's www.contextweb.com ... www.clicksor.com ... basically just do a google search for contextual advertising. Yahoo! is also getting ready to release their own AdSense competitor, so that should be rolled out fairly soon. Don't know / think if you'd have any better luck getting accepted into Yahoo! than you had …

I agree that Microsoft might either go downhill, go through an extended period of growing pains, or go through a period of being very lost, at the retirement or eventual passing of Bill Gates, Paul Allen, or any of the other guys who were with the company from the start …

I'm sorry. I'm sorta confused by what you're asking. Do you mean that when you go to www.site.com your forum index appears? Or is your forum in a subdirectory at www.site.com/forum/ Don't worry though - changing your forum's directory path is easy to do, and doesn't require you to reinstall …

NOT a fan of PHPNuke or PostNuke. Have heard very good things about Mambo but never tried it myself. I'm going to move this thread to our Existing Scripts forum since it doesn't really concern any actual PHP coding but rather getting opinions and feedback on existing php scripts.

You can do this without any hacks via javascript by utilizing the external.php?type=js If you want to have recent posts via php on a non-vBulletin php based page, I'm pretty sure the hack already exists somewhere on www.vbulletin.org (99.99% positive, actually)
