I believe it is.
With AI involved and the misleading and duplicate information tells me that the WWW is corrupt and becoming useless.
And it is the Spammers, Hackers and the like that did it.
Time will tell

In reply to janviarora and thegolfitems and all the other who follow AI like Sheep to the slaughter?

Who is the editor of this Marketing Propaganda? Was it AI or a Human Being?
Whatever, they must have read #Joseph Goebbels “Propaganda Manual” ☺

#Paul Joseph Goebbels was a German Nazi politician who was the Gauleiter of Berlin, chief propagandist for the Nazi Party, and then Reich Minister of Propaganda from 1933 to 1945.

G'day Folks,

I believe the question was "What are some reliable brands for computer monitors?" so I don't know what some of the other answers in reality had to do with the question!

The answer from my point of view is simple;
Bothe the BENQ (search “benq monitor” on google) ["https://www.benq.com/en-au/monitor.html"] available in 24" and 27" and LG Monitors ["https://www.lg.com/au/it-monitors?gclid=EAIaIQobChMImPHC4oOS_gIVD8SWCh324QEOEAAYASAAEgLXUPD_BwE"] I have found more than reliable with clear images and easy on the eyes.

My 24" BENQ is 10+ years old and I'm looking at it now while typing this reply.

LG and BENQ I find have a comparitive range to choose from to suit your needs.

I trust that answers your question, obviously there are others; however these are the brands I recommend to my customers.

G'day Neo_769,

Originally it was a public square or marketplace of an ancient Roman city or town, where legal and political business was conducted.

Now for computer related matters it is much the same as a message board and is a place or a method for discussion, a meeting or medium where ideas and views on a particular issue can be exchanged with other computer users.
Where you can have open discussions or voicing of ideas, such as computer related application software or hardware, websites, or any other computer related matters can be discussed and where you can ask for help in this regard..

Trust this explanes it. ☺

Started back in 1992 to 2022.
It was a simple case of being fed up with the yahoos, who kept stuffing up my PC's hardware and software setup and configuration while I was involved in other aspects of the IT industry. It was always someone else's fault and the problems, instead of being fixed, kept getting bigger. So here I am, doing what should have been done in the first place, fixing the problems and not blaming others, that is to say not all of them.

Let's face it, I have yet to find a software program that works 100%. Particularly an operating system that has no bugs in it (on the wish list).

One day, we will find a program publisher with integrity who when they release a new OS or other software application program, it will have been tested, will work at least 99% correctly and won't ask us to pay, to fix their problems.

G'day Folks,

Interesting to view the replies with what I call 2nd rate security utilities.

I would suggest tat the Bitdefender Antivirus Free for Windows https://www.bitdefender.com/solutions/free.html is at the top of the list and would beat any other paid version.
This works in conjunction with the Windows firewall and protects your system.
Remember that you only install 1 (one) Internet security program and have it active in you r system tray.

  • I also on my customers PC's install Superantispyware and Malwarebytes HOWEVER DEACTIVATE THEM FROM RUNNING AS RESIDENT PROGRAMS. I use these as backup scanners as no Parasite (Antivirus, Trojan, Worms, etc.) detection program can protect you 100% it just does not exist. Obviously they cannot protect you against a virus type program that some anus-rectus amateur is writing now and about to release it as for it no protecting codes exist in their data base.

As to McAfee I would stand it against the wall and let my dog lift his leg on it. ☺

Just make sure your system does not have any other similar utilities installed, if you do uninstall them, all of them, reboot the system, than go on line for a free security scanner and scan your PC https://www.bitdefender.com.au/toolbox/ clean out anything the free scanner detects, reboot again and then start the installation with Bitdefender Antivirus Free for Windows first then the other 2 free ones and you end up with a secure system.

G'day Folks,

I would tend to stay clear of anything to do with "WordPress [.org or .com] I just don't like their ploy in suggesting that to start it is free and then pile up the costs, with what they consider as extras.
It's also difficult to use your own webhosting company and it is not in HTML5 codes.
Sorry, but to me the whole thing is like a Suckers Con.
After many years, I am converting all of my websites to HTML5 and use my own templates.
Ahhh yes I use my own hosting company ☺

Then again, "To each his or her own."

How about Windows 95 and Windows 98 followed by Windows XP Pro SP3
Whichever all upgrades are built on the previous versions, Win 98 was a good building block for Win XP, and subsequent rebuilds to XP Pro SP3.

The worst application to come out of Microsoft are the Internet Explorers and now Edge, all exploiting the users Workstation and downloading information that they are not entitled to.

In th mean time, Keep safe from covid19

G'day "happygeek"

Simply typo, should read " ... bunch of morons" no and it ain't a collective noun ☺

Then one has to be cautious on forums as to what or which terminology in combination might be deemed offencive and thus punishable by administrators.

"Moron"
1. A person who is considered foolish or stupid.
2. A person of mild mental retardation having a mental age of from 7 to 12 years and generally lacking in communication and social skills enabling some degree of academic or vocational education. The term belongs to a classification system no longer in use and is now considered offensive.

Well bless my soul and spank by bottom " .... and is now considered offensive.".

So as I cannot edit the post anymore, deem this "a bung of morons" to be "a bunch of morons" and they ain't a bunch of daisies ☺

You have to keep your sence of humour in this Industry. ☺☺☺

G'day Violet_82,

Microsoft has 100% stoped support for Windows XP / Server 2003 and any operating systems below this. As such the support Desk's just do NOT help anymore with these OS's. Noteworthy is that most other Software Publishers have also stoped support for these OS's.
- I would remind you that "Microsoft Update" not 'Windows Update', if correctly setup in a new installation of XP Pro SP3 with for example MS Office 2003 will still update Critical and the Office Updates. I ran the Microsoft Update yesterday and it still worked !

Oracle (Jave) still has support for XP Pro SP3 with the last Java CPU (7u79) and PSU (7u80) release downloadable from here - http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jre7-downloads-1880261.html

Other companies who also realise that there are more than 600+ (some say 300+) Million XP users still in existence world wide (contrary to Microsoft and most Peoples popular believes) BitDefender (Anti-Virus Publisher) Ranked #1 with 97+% detection is yet another that still supports XP with their 2015 releases and plan to continue with the 2016 releases, the reason I know this is because I am an Agent of BD. There are others that still support XP Pro SP3, so not all is lost for the existing XP Users.

Hence I said that I could because of the aforementioned reasons in this and previous posts.

Also once I had the Serial number I could most likely get the XP Key from Samsung and would then be able to turn that …

pcbugfixer 13 Old Dog - New Tricks

G'day Violet_82,

The reply you received is lame, as expected for a standard almost automated Consumer reply, which by the looks of it most likely did not relate to the circumstances of a formatted HDD and whoever received your message and replied did not read your questions and would have replied differently if they had.

You said, "@pcbugfixer, I might be jumping the gun here, and apologies if I've misunderstood, but what would you do with the serial number of my Laptop and any other information on the labels on the bottom of the Laptop that I couldn't do? To answer your other question I'm aware of all the rest as I've formatted loads of laptops in the past."

My reply is simple,
- I am a Reseller, Technician with 35+ years experience and when dealing with manufacturers, unless you are also a Reseller, I would get more assistance from them and they would release information to me that they might not to you.
- If you have "formatted loads of Laptops in the past", in which case as you say "I'm aware of all the rest", then why did you need to post here and did you attempt to perform any information or other recovery before you formatted the Units HDD ?

Other points are;
- I have access, which you might not have and doubt that you do, to all the updates for windows XP that you would need to have the XP installation function …

pcbugfixer 13 Old Dog - New Tricks

G'day Violet_82,

Let me understand this correctly ?

When you formatted the Hard Drive did you format the C:\ partition only or all of the hard drive ?

The reason I mention this is, because most if not all Laptops had a Manufacturers recovery partition on the hard drive from which the whole system could be re-installed. Most Manufacturers allocated F9 at startup to get to the recovery partition and re-install all the OS and software, or ask Samsung which key they use to get to the recovery partition.

Other thought is, if this does not work or you formatted the whole HDD and it is empty, do you have a genuine XP Pro SP3 CD or the files for it on a / another computers HDD (Hard Disk Drive) ?

Also, do you have, or have you downloaded from the Samsung website, the drivers for the Samsung nc10 laptop ?
- you will need them to install after you have installed XP from a CD or files on a HDD otherwise you will end up with "Device Manager" errors and your RJ45 (wired network) wireless, and other devises on your motherboard associated with your Laptop will not work correctly.

As for the xp pro sp3 Key, yes Samsung should give that to you, If you have a problem with them, let me know by giving me the serial number of your Laptop and any other information on the labels on the bottom of the Laptop.

can somebody give me in depth details what the nero7 clean up tool does? can the average person use it w/o any risk??

Simply put, it cleans out any remaining Folder\file entries and left behind Registry entries on your system.

Good tool to use after any normal Nero un-install. Normal un-install is via Add and Remove.

You would need to run this or any of the previous tools for Nero 5 and 6, dependant on the version installation you had on your system which do not correctly re-install or refuse to install a new version or newer upgrade, caused by a bad un-install or bad installation.

The Nero Site does have a FAQ section and ability for you to submit a question to Nero.
FAQ - http://www.nero.com/nero7/enu/Customer_Service.html
Contact - http://www.nero.com/nero7/enu/Contact.html

Hope this helps ;)
