Ok, third ones gone as i emptied the temp folder. Screen dump of the locations of the 2 others. One looks like a floppy setup.. i dont have a floppy drive. and 98??? I bought the laptop in 06, having a creation date of 2004, ok i'll let that off (as thats the date on most of the other folders that came with it.)
E.g. How many of you turn off computer when leaving the office? Or monitor when you are not around...
me! always! I turn my brothers' pc off if he isnt using it, I turn the backlight off on my laptop if i'm going away for more than a minute - the monitor turns off after 5.
And its a black google with green text? f'n sweet.
have you tried disabling the firewall (temporarily) and see if you can access then? If not, leave your modem for longer turned off (5 minutes normally works for me).
Also have you checked your IP address etc is set to automatic?
As for the former statement regarding the more intellectual women.. I'd say it is probably accurate. Most guys wouldn't enjoy dating someone who is smarter than themselves... me included.. It actually is a turn-off.
I know, bottom right of my screen :P I mean one to replace the windows XP one. As the attached screen dump shows, I've installed objectdock (and very sweet8 it is). But there's no system tray with the free version. And I like having the little icon to say i'm connected to the net/bettery power/avast is alive etc. (I also did the log on screen: http://s3.photobucket.com/albums/y69/hbk619/?action=view¤t=logondx.jpg hehe).
Using avast to scan my windows xp media centre laptop it tells me the system volume information on both C: (main) and D: drives is password protected. Anyone know why? Or if it matters? And the two files listed on the screen dump are corrupted. Any takers on explaining? Do I need to worry?
Also, anyone know what the win32:Agent-AWB is? and how it appeared despite not being there when i installed daemon weeks ago?
edit: I found out about the Daemon and seems it's ok, as I didnt actually install the thing that carries the malware. It's gone now anyway. :)

It's supposed to be "simple" but is confuddling. It's just a good friend of mine uses it, so if it goes wrong i can turn to him.
Something else I've noticed, I thought I was imagining it but a few times over the last few weeks the screens had a sort of line go through it, kinda the bottom half flickers. Quick enough for me to think "was it my eyes?" And not often enough for me to remember. Would you say that's hardware?
Now, Windows just did two Blue screens "random error windows must shut down" attached printscreens of 2 error reports. what the hell??? At least it recovered I supposed.. (if you cant read em i'lltype out the codes, if it helps..)
When i shut it down sunday night (day of first post) it was shutting down and went off. A little too quick. Mum started it the next day "not shut down, check disk" etc. then BSOD.
p.s. I'm gonna give up with norton, and after 85 days go to avast. And a note: since recovering, the realtek icon has appeared in the task bar, depsite me telling it to hide always.
So my subscription on norton went cukcoo (sp??) when i formated the laptop, so i did the one-on-one chat with norton. I let him "have access to my computer" and while I was chatting to him, Internet Explorer kept disappearing for a second and coming back, fully working. He said it wasn't him. Never done before, hasn't done in the 5 mins after.
here's a hijak this, looks clean to me (as in i recognise everything except O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: @xpsp3res.dll,-20001 - {e2e2dd38-d088-4134-82b7-f2ba38496583} - C:\WINDOWS\Network Diagnostic\xpnetdiag.exe ). Adaware found nothing. *shrugs* I think it was norton personally.
