This is going round our college atm, and i have seen someone get to question 101 i think then they failed. He was literally kicking himself. Funny to behold. There's a movie of some guy doing it on youtube at an insane speed. :)

Check the power/data cables are the correct way around. Some of them can fit both ways round in the sockets. Also dropping a laptop in a puddle isn't very good, so check that none of the capacitors have ruptured, or any connections between the circuit boards are not damaged.

have you had a virus recently? if so that maybe your cause,
try booting it in safe mode (hit F8) when you boot it up. this may enable you to enter the normal start-up routine.

Normally a blue screen (aka the blue screen of death or BSOD for short), is due to a RAM or graphics card issue.
What graphics card are you running, and how much RAM do you have?

The only real 'spammers' are those who either have been hear a long time to gather up the amount of posts, or they spend ages in the games forum posting on the counting game *cough* christina *cough*.

if so, start it in safe mode, and run a virus scan, this will then hopefully fix the start-up freezing.

try upgrading to wmp version 11.
It has a far superior rip quality to version 10.

Also have you just double clicked the CD drive icon? you could try right click then explore.
Try going the long way round, by finding the game shortcut, on your desktop or through the 'start' button.
