i installed PC-CILLIN 2000 quite some time ago, i run celeron 1.7 with 256 mb memory, with regular updates and real time scans plus spy bot, adaware 6 and spy blaster i find a smooth running operation and no problems as such.

you could have a problem as USB will take an interrupt out of your system and you may not have a free one. if you have PCI IRQ steering things should be alright. if not look at COM or LPT ports you disable to recover an interrupt.it might help.

you may be running the wrong PPP, change the server type in properties under dial-up networking, not networks.
