well, i deleted my cookies & cleared my cache (temp files on iBook) yesterday 4 the umpteenth time; logged in ok, shutdown IE, launched IE, restarted sys & launched IE, shutdown my sys last night , booted & launched IE now & i still haven't had 2 log back in after clearing everythin out - so thinks r LOOKIN GOOD!!! :D

no things r still a bit wacked but, well, maybe its working the way its supposed to @ this pt. i used 2 just launch IE and i wud b logged in, being TTF is my h-page, but now i have 2 log in. sometimes when i do a refresh it still logs me 1/2 way out - my nic is recognized up top, but i get an error msg stating i should choose a user name... 1st time i'm loggin in since i dropped the stick in my iBook, but thats a post 4 a dif thread!

ok, thats a little screwy - i came back to the forum and was being shown as a guest up on top, but when i looked to c who else was logged in i was listed as aeinstein, TTG was there and no Guests; i clicked on Profile, made an edit & changed(saved) & clicked on home & am listed as aeinstein, for which i didnt need to login as..... ??? w/that, i'm off to work :-\

ok, so who can help me on this one? whenever i refresh i get booted out & told that i should select a username - i've logged in like 4 or 5x this morn! i go in to change my profile password & immediately i get that i cant change this profile & i see that i'm listed as Guest. very annoying!!! >:(

well, i think i've just answered my own question, but... if 1 had a choice to either pickup C++ 1st or Perl, what would be the best lang 2 go w/ (actually, my orig ? was an either/or scenario, not a 1st vs 2nd scenario; w/an either/or scenario, i'm guessing that C++ would be better since its relavent to soooo many technologies)?

VERY unhappy camper - my OOLs toast right now, using my 56k backup!!! was postin w/my iBook and when all the lights went out like 3hrs ago my Mac didnt even flicker when it when to battery & back; my CabMod on the other hadn has been nbs (no bloc sync) since......... 53 MIN hold time to get to an OOL sup rep told me everything i needed to know! >:(

well, unfortunately, i haven't had a lot of time 2 work on this but, i did just finish a structural outline of what i'd like to propose for a new homepage. i am going 2 do the initial layout using frames ( :P ), which i will then convert to a non-frames implementation if things look good. do to work & study loads i'm not going to set a timeline for this, but i will try to keep this on the fron burners as much as possible and will provide a progress update asap.

main reason why i'm considering picking it up (i had actually decided TO pick it up, but then i spoke 2 u about the Oracle/SQL thing!) is b'cuz a coupla prog i was thinking of learning - in particular Oracle, starting with PL/SQL have versions that will run on Linux, which i can afford to do pretty quickly w/o much considering; for me to go to the expense of setting up a Win2K/SQL server environ will take a bit of justifying....

ok, i've decide to dive into the Linux thing. i'm either gonna load my WinCommander(bought it last yr or so & never looked @ it, ver 2000 Deluxe) & part my Compq 5345 (K5(6?)400MHz Athlon sys or just reformat & dedicate the sys to Linux. a few ?s: 1) any advise as 2 pros/cons of partitioning & using multiple OS's (in this case orig Win98SE load & Linux), or just wiping & dedicating sys; 2) regardless of whether i have multiple/dedicated boot, r there any issues y'all know about concering my particular sys & Linux... 3) which leads to what distribution? i've always heard so much about RedHat being the prevelant package, but from what i saw mentioned on this board & speaking 2 1 associate @ work (who's NOT a Linux user) its seems that possibly Mandrake is also a widely used dis.
thoughts & suggetions would b greatly appreciated! :)

i might need to be corrected on Homesite not being a stand alone prod anymore - was redownloading the MX family of products (sans Coldfusion) and saw that Homesites still downloadable - didnt investigate it tho to see what ver & all; gonna boost my iBook from std 64MB to 320MB and c if that lets me load&access MX... :-\

i'm running win98 on both my atholon k6s - a 400 & 450mhz. am considering scrubbing the OS on the 400 & turning to the linux side on that box, but i barely have time to pickup dreamweaver/javascript/perl/yaddayaddayadda so where in the world am i gonna carve time 4 linux - but it seems pretty kewl, so.... 8)

i've got 1 ear perked up 4 it, but not much more than that - right now i'm working on Dreamweaver MX, then i'm going on2 Flash MX, possibly then onto Fireworks, or more likely an RDMS. if i go the RDMS route, i'll prob go 4 Oracle (i just picked up Oracle PL/SQL 101, highly recommend according to the reviews on Amazon; ISBN: 007212606X) or possible MySQL, as my focus is on web development. I like the IDE of Coldfusion, but i'm a little weary of the non-industry/ODBC standard coding it implements (@least, that is 2 say, from what i understand of how CF works).

fyi - i just started playing w/Dreamweaver MX - very nice (mayb when i get in2 the meat&potato stuff i might upgrade "nice" 2 "madd kewl" but that'll have 2 wait a bit - i already have a gripe tho: why do publishers have 2 chang the interface just to change it?!!!!!! there was nothin wrong b4 now i have 2 relearn stuff i just learned !!! i used ultraedit-32 for awhile which is a really next text editor, but , well let me put it this way: a Stutz-Bearcat was an AWESOME car for its day, and a Ferrari (peferrably a 575 Maranello - yes, red would be JUST fine!) is an AWESOME car today but to compare them... you cant as theyre simply worlds apart. Go Dreamweaver... Go Dreamweaver... Go Dreaweaver... ;D
of course, having said that my 4 trial expired and my MX prerelease ver is giving me a Privilaged 456 error code & tells me to reinstall - i've tried rebooting/reinstalling, reinstalling/rebooting & rebooting again to no avail... gonna go work on that 4 a few anyways.... :-\
