Hi,is it a case fan or CPU fan ,i dont think dell has an actual cpu fan but a case fan that blows through to the cpu heatsinc . you could remove it and take it to local computer repair shop/store
did you try contacting Dell
this should be the fan in you tower .see attachment
OK, I have the Mic. working on Voice Recognition but cannot be heard on Skype. I also checked the drivers and found they were updated BY MSI a few days ago. Problem is MSI is 156 km from me and there is THAT language barrier. I'll plod along and fiddle with the settings. Thanks
sorry i don't use skype ,good luck
just found this sound settings for Skype on Vista should be close, or the same even, in win7

i will ask again, do you have a wireless router in your hookup/setup,like this setup.
http://www.networkingreviews.com/images/Wireless-Home-Network-Setup.jpg
It does not appear as an option in the Control Panel > Sound folder of Windows 7.
so it doesn't show in the sound/ recording tab
Before performing the above steps, you need to uninstall the application completely and reinstall the application in compatibility mode.
If the above work around is not help full, we can try to use the application in XP mode which is included in Windows 7.
you must have Windows 7 Professional, Enterprise, or Ultimate to run Windows XP Mode, will not run in home priemum
yeah you do have a intenal mic, just found this site ,and downloaded manual but found nothing of interest about the mic ,not sure what divers cover the mic im thinking maybe chipset drivers but not sure ,maybe you could contact MSI through link on site .

Wireless Pci card.and attach antenna.internet is not working automatically!
do you have a wireless router connected to your modem,or a wireless modem connected to incoming internet!
you need to click on wireless icon down by the clock and chose connect to network and search for wireless connections ,click to connect to yours when it finds it ,and check of to save and it will then connect automatically
Is my Firewall blocking this application
go to firewall settings and check
did you check device manager to see if its there and if drivers are needed ,are you sure its really one, not owing a msi i have no idea of knowing even where its located on the laptop, no built in mics' on any of my laptops
just read a few reviews and specs on your laptop and none show it having a built in mic ,just mic in jack
boot to your win7 dvd and run the fix/repair
This did not resolve the issue. ?
keep it on site ,upload to a file storage site and post a link to download the files don't use email
I have disabled all startup items and startup time WAS normal.
ok normal when you turn them off
disabling and restarting to find the culprit I wound up going through the whole list and the startup was still slow?l
so one of them had to make it go slow again ,
would the last one that you turned back on before the reboot that was slow
Hi,
I can't get a picture with that video.
If a fan has improved your problem then it is most probably caused by overheating. You said a month ago you were going to upgrade your motherboard, why not just get a new board and see how thing go?
if you click the link and chose open with instead of saving it ,it will play ,but its a basketball game
took me 5 min to find the link for the file ,
How do you encrypt wireless network on your computer?
Sometimes I don't know........ when the water is to fast and the rocks are too hard..........? lol
.
just came out of me the other day when someone asked me how things were going ,lol and i liked it
I am using Win7 Ultimate on my desktop at home. It's 32-bit. Just take this one caveat: this particular installer CANNOT upgrade Win XP - it should be a fresh install.
Just check the web if there are available Win7 drivers for all your devices. Secure them first before you "migrate" to Win7. With all the needed drivers at hand, I'm sure you'll do fine.
Good luck!
all already said in above posts ,thanks for the recap
web side
should be websites
this might help you better than what i said in my othet post .

your welcome
I do not use games.... so is ok...... I just scare about some drivers issue.
check manufacturers web side for win7 drivers of the devices you are concerned about
The slow bootup can be due to any of the following reasons:
- Startup items
- Prefetcher information
and many mor reasons ,like lack of ram, heat ,and viruses we would need complete computer specs to say more on this
As you have already tried disabling the startup items,
and they told you this, when! as it says nothing about it in there post,in allmy years i never heard any suggest disabling prefecth to help quicken startup time, something new or old that i missed, empty mine with atf cleaner but have never had the need to disable it
good luck
acer sent me the windows 7 CD but in arabic language.
contact acer ,not microsoft, Acer should send you english version disk
Hello there......... probably I'm going to buy a new pc quite soon and I was wondering if now with W7 things are getting better.
I'm XP user since years and quite happy with it.
Someone has experience already and can give me opinion about W7?
I have never used W vista.
hi, i like you had never used vista, and recently went from winxp to win7 and think its great and will never go back to winxp go for it
set it to 0, just check the box to turn it off completely
I just figured it out. Thank You
control panel ,add and remove programs and uninstall software is what you did or need to do to rid computer of them
Acutally I didn't know that (about the ram limits) for some reasonson, someone must have told me, that all 64 bit windows could have 16 Gigs, good to know.
Thanks, I set it to 3072MB which should be 3GB, but now it says I have 12.1 amount of Swap Memory. Is Swap Memory different from Virtual memory? I thought they were the same thing. On a plus side I got 10~GB more free space on my little Velociraptor, so thats nice.
if you have 16 gig of ram then you could be best served by turning it off completely.for someone like me who is running 32bit win7 ult,on a p4 2.8 with 1.5 gig ram and 8gig thumb drive for ready boost ,then yeah i have it set to default setting
and i think you are correct about the 64 bit os handling 16 gig and i think its actually more like128 gig and higher if one looks on the net for info

Update the driver
You may be prompted to provide the path of the driver. Windows may have the driver built-in, or may still have the driver files installed from the last time that you set up the device. However, sometimes, it will open the New Hardware Wizard which may ask for the driver. If you are asked for the driver and you do not have it, you can try to download the latest driver from the hardware vendor’s Web site.
In the device Properties dialog box, click the Driver tab, and then click Update Driver to start the Hardware Update Wizard. Follow the instructions to update the driver.
copied from here .

ok mate so I tried the first two
those were the drivers .did you install them and its still not working ,if so
in device manager ,go to the usb section at the bottom and delete all thats in the usb section and reboot computer for windows to reinstall drivers
Precisely. I downloaded too many skins for window media player and that has changed my OP system to VISTA from window 7 starter. .
Vista looking maybe ,but it did not ,could not, change your win7 stater to Vista .
when you bought the laptop you should have created recovery disk ,but would have likely needed a usb dvd drive to do so ,maybe a local repair shop cold repair it ,or maybe you could do a system restore back to the date you bought it ! before you loaded to many skins, just a note 1 skin of any kind is to many ,my opinion
how to do a system restore.

How to install
do you mean how do I install text converter for power point on office 2007 of windows 7
if yes download the converter and double click it and chose install, setup,or maybe even run !good luck
hi,maybe if you share with us a little more info ,like this part .
tells me that i'm missing things
what things
and (by default mind you) I have 23.9 gigs of virtual memory
turn it off no need for it with the amount of ram you have
fuck you
do you really think that will work
i installed winxp mode ,but my computer is not letting me install windows update for some reason it doesn't see that iam the admin and the only user on the computer ,so it will not install the virtual pc in that link .
XP mode shouldn't need hardware virtualization, but a little more muscle than that would probably help. I have an older dual core "Athlon x2 4200+" with 4GB of ram and didn't have any problems with the little bit I've used XP mode, despite the lack of virtualization support.
did you downlaod winxp mode ,also #2 is tool i ran to run to check http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/download.aspx
hi most of that you should have said in your fist post
should have said =first post =,sorry for the typo
I didn't mean to imply it was,
didn't say you did, didn't mean to tag your post just a habit sorry
was just posting/adding some info,
like this xp mode also need a up to date cpu to run ,i have win7 ultimate on a P4 2.8 socket 478 but it will not run xp mode but its doesn't have hardware assisted virtualization
To everyone that has told me to scan, here is a little about myself. I am a local malware and computer technician. Or in other words, I have checked this pc many times for viruses. So that out of the way,.
hi most of that you should have said in your fist post
There's no difference for gaming, the difference between Home Premium and Ultimate is in extra features that wont effect gaming.
Windows 7 is better for gaming (in my opinion) because it has all the modern benefits (DX10, and being the current platform designers code for) but the XP mode allows you to play legacy games that weren't viable on Vista.
home premium is not compatible with xp mode,
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/compare/default.aspx
Win 7 is the best for gaming i have alot of problems with my vista when i am using it for gaming.
cant get any more open than that as to why you posted ,sell online ,and you sig is what it is
This thread has as much use and makes as much sense as fly screens on a submarine.
this one and 8 of 10 of the post i recently replied to
hi,you'll likely have to reinstall windows to get them to work ,even if they are close to the same
