I have a Studio 1735 Dell Laptop... hard drive failed, had it replaced but they forgot to do something that allows my computer to read anything (memory stick, IPOD, etc) plugged into my USB ports.... under Device manager my Network Controller ion is flagged... have no idea what driver I need to istall to fix tis very annoying problem.... HELP??????

should be a Dell service tag on hte laptop ,go to dell.com and use the tag # to get drivers for your laptop

make sure that your laptop is set to first boot from cdrom ,or try the microsoft version in above post.

edit just burnt the iso and yes it contains the same files as you show ,will try later to bootto it .

The CD contains 3 files (SRC V35.Zip + SRC V35.TGZ + README.TXT) & 1 folder (ISOLINUX)

I think you downloaded memtest for linux,not sure it madders but i never use multisession for my boot cd's
get windows memtest from link below should be only one file the iso

just a comment ,I used Avg for years ,and now install Essential on all my computers and think its heads over AVG !

I have done that I was supposed to delete the partitions and then reformat.

only if you waanted to ,how many partitions were there ,you should have been able to just format the partition and then just continue with the install if you used your winxo cd to format the drive

memtest86 iso. you need to use nero burning rom not quick launch and chose burn iso image .or set nero to be the default iso ,and just double click on the iso ,
or as i do use image burn software .

i never used Vista ,coming to win7 from winxp .anf i don't mind the way the folders work , i put a shortcut to mydocuments & mycomputer and on the desktop ,now for menus ,if you click on organize and go layout you can get the original menu

from what i can gather its really new format ,maybe to new ,no programs no the format.

windows live mail works great for me ,i have 2 hotmail and 2 ISP email setup in it and it checks all 4 at once when i open live mail. but i know that's not what you want but i do!

Title really says it all. I had Chromium OS installed on my 8 gig flash drive. Formatted it and now it says its only 950 megs in size. Any ideas?

right click on mycomputer and click manage ,go to disk management and you should see the device in the list ,it should show missing space and the formatted 950 meg ,you should be able to fix it there

So for Christmas I got an old Lego game, LEGO Soccer Mania. I put in the CD, and run the installation. The game says it's installed, but then I try to play the game, and the main menu which is supposed to have an option for "Play Game," only has "Install Game" still. I click on it thinking maybe the installation was faulty and that I need to reinstall, but the setup starts to remove the game. I have an Everex StepNote laptop with Vista on it. I also got The Force Unleashed Ultimate Sith Edition and it works fine on my laptop.

try compatibility mode ,right click on the install exe and go to compatibility mode ans chose winxp maybe

That was a good Idea, it allowed me to install Malwarebytes but it won't start. .

go the folder in program file where malwarebytes is install and rename its exe there also

I thought that if someone buys Adobe Acrobat Professional they wouldn't be buying it for opening PDF files but to make PDF files from other documents, in particular MS Word docs.

you didn't say it was full pro and that you bought it ,i made a bad assumption ,thought you were referring to adobe acrobat reader free program ! Acrobat reader sorry ,

why not just use a flash drive to take the word documents from one computer to the other to create the pdf file .i also think office 2003 can save word files as pdf file if im not mistaken ,good luck

i got my copy from Microsoft for free ,so i installed ,[was using winxp pro]no reason not to ,and it seems to work great ,on old Betsy ,wish i had more cpu and ram but it will do for now

I fail to see the need for a network setup if you only want internet on all machines. i have wireless router and 5 computer getting internet from it as i type this and do not have a network setup ,just an open router with access to all computers .

makes sense as acrobat is for PDF files and not Word text doc's,isn't it ! mine is anyway

it has to work ,we load winxp recovery on laptops that have been upgraded tp all the time ,and nothing happens , the fact that one is 32bit and one 64 bit will not affect it ,in my opinion

Stryker - thanks for the post but when ever I hit a download button on the Microsoft site I had no option other than it wanted to install on the machine that was connected. In the end I've given up and re-installed Vista...... painful....

What about the option of having a complete Windows7-32 backup and then restoring that back up after installing Windows7-64 ?

that should work as the restore of the 32 bit backup would format hdd and reinstall ,64 bit shouldn't have any affect on the restore

your welcome . i don't use encryption software but i see Truecyrpt is 64 bit ,Its free opens source software ,you shouldn't need a new drive just the software .think you would just need to format the drive and install truecyrpt on it

so, you have the answer to your problem ,you need to take it back to other computer and remove the password or maybe even the software ,you need software that is 64 bit compatible

found this disclaimer on there website .by chance is your new laptop running win7 64 bit , my opinion is only save place for lifes' work in on a well burnt DVD/CD and stored safely away

should have came back and asked after 2 or 3 ,did you download the iso file of memtest .if not you should ,and also download isoburn too to burn the iso to disk ,just simply click on the iso file and isoburn will burn it if you set isoburn as default for iso file
