The image is not clear, try posting the screen shot you capture here. And when you use Gimp is other applications on, if yes quit all other applications and see whether your Gimp is working fine
Usually reformat would be the last option for mac users and if you had no choice backup your data. Try and reinstall your gimp app and delete the old one. Since when has this problem started and what were youb doing when this problem occured
Common problem, i experience it all the time but it can be solved. Are you using the older version of mac if yes go software update and install the new updated version. Are you able to connect to the internet with a ethernet cable. First go to network utility. Go to spotlight and search for it. Type network utility. In my next post i will show you the picture. Post me what you see. Next go to system preference and click on network. The next few steps you must be an administrator to do it. Click on assist me and click on diagnositcs. The network diagonistics will appear. All the button on the left should be green in colour, post what you see. Follow the onscreen instruction in the network diagonsitcs. See my next post

Well, technology become more advanced some may improve human lifestyles others maybe used for destructive purpose. You mentioned within our lifetime, so this questions is a bit tricky. Most of you are older than me so what i see in the future will be different from yours. Religion might hate other religion for influencing on their people. For example muslims are being influenced by catholic and they join catholic instead of their own religion. Or all religion might be united together and form a new religion that consist of christian,buddhist, islam and others. Whatever our future maybe, we just how we will live and died peacfully without any worries
