Mine linksy have two USB ports not sure what is yours. What do you mean by dropping in signal strenth. Do you mean that the internet is very slow sometimes or the network will suddenly dropped and you can't connect to internet. Does it the screen say monitor going to sleep? If yes this problem is common. Go and check whether your CPU is running or not. You can do these by hearing the sound

If has to do with the motherboard as well. Yours might be falty and need a change it won't cause you a lot. If you have ever repair a PC open the cover of the PC. Take a screw driver and tighten all the screws inside. Sometimes it is not tighten properly and you cant turn on your computer/

You can still use it. Reformat a disk mean just deleting all data on it, so your original memory will return back and you can reuse it again

What you stated is not common. Follow wmrandall advise and post your problem. Is this problem only happening to you or others who is using the same BD player. If yes, it has to do with your player problem.
