Hello,

I am trying desperately to connect a MIDI Keyboard(Yamaha Portatone PSR-230) to a Dell Dimension 3000 computer running Windows XP Home Edition via an Edirol UM-1 USB Midi Interface cable . The computer has a MIDI sound card(M-Audio Audiophile 2496) with up-to-date drivers.The primary software is Music Works personal version 2.5 series (Middle Earth Software Systems).

I have successfully installed all hardware and drivers as verified in Device Manager.

My problem is with configuration of the equipment and software so that the Keyboard will communicate with the primary software. The Keyboard is connected via the Edirol UM-1 USB MIDI Interface cable. I haven't had a success yet, but I think its possible.

Can you help?
