i see it has two memory channels, one black and one blue slot in each.

can i put 1 gb in each of the 4 slots?

if i were going to only install 2 1gb sticks, which color slots should i put them in?

do you have the book that came with the board it should tell which slots to use and up to what size maximum each slot can handle. if you only use 2 stick you should probably place them in the same color slots to take advantage of the dual channel. but read the book if you don't have it look for it on-line it wont be hard to find it.

yeah they must be installed in matching pairs in matching colours

e.g my config on my intel-based dell

1 (blue) 1gb
2 (yellow) 256mb
3 (blue) 1gb
4 (yellow) 256mb

this gives me 2.5gb of dual channel ram
