Hello All,
Complete noob here.
My emachines T2885 lost it's motherboard. I don't think this machine is worth up grading although, I like it very much. I think that I would just like to get it running as cheaply as possible.
My CPU is a Celeron 2.8ghz/128/400, SL77T.
I am thinking about this MB, GIGABYTE GA-8SIMLH S.478 DDR AGP 533FSB .
It is listed on ebay for $28 plus $10 shipping. Do you think this will work? Any other sugestions?
I have bought a new PSU(CORSAIR CMPSU-400CX 400W ATX12V V2.2 80 PLUS Certified Power Supply ).
I have read that I will need to borrow a retail version of XP but, I can use the lisence number that is atached to my machine.
Is there anything that I have not thought of?
Thanks,
Mike

I would say that the motherboard is fine.....

Yes, as long as the serial on your machine will work with the borrow version of windows...

Like if you have a Windows XP home serial, you need a copy of XP home....

If you have a XP Pro serial and you have a copy of XP home, your serial will not work :)

Hope that makes sense...
