I hope you guys can give me some advice on the easiest way to reset my cmos,I have an 8 year old Packard Bell pc IXTREME6052,I am trying to upgrade ram modules and was previously told to reset cmos,money is tight and as a novice I dont want to do something that might wreck my pc,hope you can help?

You shouldn't have to reset cmos to install new ram, the bios will recognize it at start up.

You can reset your BIOS by removing the cmos battery. But as already said you do not need to reset your BIOS to install a new RAM.

No need to remove the battery, you just need to set the cmos reset jumper on the mainboard. Boot up... Then reset it back for normal operations.

pess "J" and start the computer to reset your BIOS
