Hi all;

My monitor will not display an image if i boot it normally, however when i boot into safe mode it works fine.

Thinking it is something to do with the refresh rate and the resolution i restarted, pressed F8 and booted into vista's low resolution mode or something like that but the the monitor still does not display an image.

Any ideas of how to sort this problem out?

Your help is much appreciated

Is this a laptop or desktop machine we are talking about?
You may need to check that the driver is ok. Look at the device manager tree and see if there is a yellow icon on top of the device driver. If this is the case, you will need to re-install the driver.

What is the max resloution your monitor can handle? It is essential to know this because set it to a higher one beyond the recommended can fry ur VGA.
It will work in safe mode as the resolution is set normally to 800 x 600.
Try booting the machine into safe mode and set the resolution to 1024 x 768 and reboot.

somehow fixed itself... don't ask me how it did it, it just did lol.
