Hi,

WinXP Home SP2 Word2000 SP3.

I have a problem saving new documents. It is only a problem the first time the "Save As" dialogue runs in any given Word session.


1. Start Word.
2. Save the new document (toolbar icon, File->Save or File->Save As)
3. The "Save As" diaglogue window pops-up and is populated with the "My Documents" folders and files.
4. The hour glass then appears for about a minute.
5. Once the hour glass dissapears Word behaves normally until it is closed down and restarted.

Do you have any ideas what might be causing this :?:

When saving a new document the Save As dialogue shows the "My Documents" folder.

This folder contained a broken network shortcut.

Deleting that resolves the problem.
