I am repairing a computer running an Intel Quad Core, 500 Gig HD and 4 Gig of Ram. The PC blue screens on start up. I checked the error code online and it indicated a HD issue and told me that the HD installed in this machine was defective. I ordered a new HD and I am getting BSOD on install. The exact error is STOP: 0x0000007B (0xF78D2524, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000) I get the error immediately after the setup starts( after F6 for RAID, F2 for Automated recovery, etc.) I have checked both HD's and they both do the same.

I have no idea where to go from here. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

PS. HD drives are SATA.

Problem solved, it was related to a bad driver for the SATA controller. Once the good SATA driver was installed from floppy during the XP install it was fine.
