I am using windows xp SP-2. The problem is, when I start my computer it boots and perform chkdsk but after this it restarts again and again but don't show the desktop. What may be the fault? Either I have to reinstall my windows or any hardware problem occured. Please provide any reasonable solution for that.

Jump to Poststart the computer and then press f8 then choose safe mode then it will open in safe mode then go to system restore and restore it ....that's it...enjoy

have you placed new ram ? if so it's b'cose of ram , try replacing another ram or remove your old ram and clean with eraser hope this will help you
