Here is the situation: when I doubleclick on a folder on my WindowsXP SP1 desktop, I get a Windows popup message that the folder does not exist. The same thing happens in Explorer but not in a 3rd party file browser. Interestingly it doesn't happen with the Recycle bin on the desk.

Now, this problem first crept in after I installed a 3rd party explorer shell called Powerdesk, which I made the default shell. I uninstalled this app a few times, but I never resolved the non-existing folder thing.

Now, I can open folders normally by rightclicking and choosing OPEN. This is what I in fact do. I have never heard or read about this problem on any of the forums. Any advice would be appreciated.
