internet problems

when my computer comes of standby my bradband internet doesnt work but after bout 10 mins it starts working and thids happens when it comes off stand by..does any 1 no whats wrong?

plz help?

i have compaq presario xp sp2 home editition

This may help:

right click "My Computer" goto "Properties" click on the "Hardware Tab" then click on the "Device Manager" button. find your network card.. right click on your network card and goto "Properties". Click on the "Power Management Tab" and un-check "Allow windows to turn off this device to save power".
