I recently built a custom rig for gaming. Here are the specs:
p4 2.8 ghz with ht
1 gig pc 3200 (kingston)
radeon 9800 pro
Xp pro service pack one

Anyways, I've been using AquaMark3(a benchmark tool) and have been getting around 18,000, which is half of what I expected. I downloaded the latest drivers but still Im having poor performance. Could this be a problem with XP, other software, or is there a major hardware issue?

Aquamark is not a very well considered benchmark tool. For more comparability, rund 3DMark 2001 and 3DMark 2003 on the system, and report your scores in those please.

Also, ensure you have AF and FSAA disabled before you run the tests.
