Recently my laptop suffered a major meltdown, the hard drive was completely wiped (apparently it required a new mother board as well, thankfully was still under warrenty) when it returns I need to know if there may be any problems reinstalling Windows XP using the key attached to the laptop, could microsoft believe that I am trying to install a pirated copy because the key has been used already?

I am sorry if this issue has been covered before but I could not find it during a search of the forum archives.

windows should be all ready re-loaded when it returns !

If it is not reloaded when you get it, you can load it using the system recovery cd's that came with your laptop.

If you cannot activate the software after you reload, you can call MS, explain the problem, and they will tell you how to activate.
Good luck.
