thanks. just to add to this. if anyone ever has a problem shutting down from the start menu in xp it is worth trying this before resorting to the pain job of a hard shutdown.

go to start then run. in the box type cmd. this will bring up command prompt. in cmd type shutdown -s. to just restart type shutdown -r. it take a minute but is by far safer.

And if you want to specify the time before the system could be restarted you can add -t xx (where xx is time) ....
example : if you want your system to immediately restart then :
shutdown -r -t 00

and for shutdown :
shutdown -s -t 00

Eggs + Rice blended with chicken (Egg Biryani thats what we call it in Urdu). Thats one of my favourites.

1/2 cup Oil
1 cup Yoghurt
Whole Spices
6 Eggs boiled and peeled
1/2 cup crushed brown Onions
500 gms Rice boiled with Salt 3 tbsp
2 tsp Ginger / Garlic
Coriander and Mint leaves chopped
1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
Green Chillies chopped
2 tsp Red Chilly powder
Dash of Kewra
2 Potatoes diced
saffron dissolved in 1/4 cup Milk
1/2 cup Peas boiled
1/2 tsp All Spice

Heat the oil. Add the whole spices and stir. Add the crushed onions, ginger / garlic, turmeric and red chilly powders. Stir and fry till the oil seperates.Add the potatoes, peas and yoghurt. Bring to a boil, cover and cook till the vegetables are tender. Add the eggs. In another pan spread 1/2 of the boiled rice, over this spread the contents of the 1st pan, sprinkle the coriander and mint leaves, and spread the remaining rice over this. Sprinkle the kewra and saffron on top. Cover the pot and simmer over a low heat for 15 minutes. And the wonderful egg biryani is ready for you ....

Hello ingeborgdot@yah ! I dont know about your problem but I think you should post this problem in an appropriate area ..... which windows are you using ?? if you're using 2000 or xp then you should post it in Windows 2000/xp/2003 forum and if you're using 98 or 95 then you should be posting it in Windows 95/98 forum.

iexplore.exe generates errors because of :

1) some add on causes a crash .... if you find some add on name in your error report then you can disable that add on ...

2) the second reason is of active x controls ... they can also cause errors.

3) and the third reason can be that IE itself has gone through an error

WHAT YOU SHOULD DO NOW :

1) perform a spyware scan (you've done it .... post your hijackthis log in spyware and nasties section)

2) perform a virus scan (you've done it too)

3) run system file checker (sfc) ... this will check if your system files are in healthy state.

If the problem still persists .. you can perform a reinstall of internet explorer .......
