You can just download adaware se and spybot search & destroy to scan for spyware. They both are free. They'll most likely remove most of the spyware on your system.

And if you still have a problem with spyware .. we have a special help forum for the virus, spyware affected people in our tech talk forums.

I have Symmantec corporate 8 on my servers and clients at work ... it usually detects viruses ...

You can scan your system online so that your system becomes completely clean ..

1) And if you do want to delete some attachment .. then you should go to your control panel --> select attachments from the left pane .. it'll show you all the attachments you've made .. select and delete your specfic ones ...

But as Dani said there is no apparent need to remove an attachment.

2) Check your browser if its set to updating your page automatically ... if it takes it from the cache .. then you can have this problem.

Do they always detect in bios ?

do they work properly in safe mode?
If so go to device manager (right click my computer, and click properties, click Hardware, then device manager) and remove them, then reboot your computer they should redetect.

It says Windows has an error and will shut down now. IRQL not less or equal,then I have to shut the computer down.

This is usually caused by some faulty device .. unplug any accessories like modem or lan card and then try installing windows ...

If it doesnt work .. then you should check if your RAM is correctly functioning..

Let us know the exact error code if the thingy stops again. The error code should be like this one .. 0x000000aa where aa is any digit or letter.

I am facing a wiered problem when I connect to the internet ... After connecting to the internet I planned to open an email account ... but the problem was that whenever I write something in the password field nothing but *'s are written ... but all other fields are ok. I tried to set the password as ****** but the account doesnt open .. now what should I do ?? I called the hardware vendor but he said that the keyboard was absolutely alright..

Another doubt I have in mind is that there's a recycle bin on my desktop ... but I dont have a motor cycle .. I own a scooter so I'm looking for a re-scooter bin in my system ... please help me find that.

Another bug that I've found in windows is that I lost my JAVA book ... I had put it in my cupboard ... I decided to use windows search tool for fast searching ... but windows didnt find it ...

Do you use quicktime?? if not just uninstall it ...

if yes then try to find the option in quicktime that it doesnot automatically become your default player again..

I assume you're using windows xp ........

1)Go to control panel ... add/remove components ... click the Set program access and defaults tab ... click custom ... and set your system to use windows media player as your default media player.

So I found the solution to your second problem too ... quick haan :D..

Go to Start..Run..Regedit
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion In the right pane, double-click RegisteredOrganization. Under "Value data", type the name that you want, and then click OK. To change the name of the registered owner, do the following: In the right pane, double-click RegisteredOwner. Under "Value data", type the name that you want, and then click OK/Exit.

As far as your first problem is concerned .. you can just run msconfig ... go to startup tab and uncheck the windows messenger so that it'll not run at system startup.

And your second problem ... I do it with system mechanic or other tweeking software .. but I'll have to look for the registry tweek for you ..

Is the dragging of all the windows jerky or slow ??

check if the display drivers have been installed correctly in the device manager.

When you get to the welcome screen with no username ... press ctrl alt del twice ... it'll take you to the classic login screen ... enter administrator as username and give its password ........... you'll be able to logon.

When you first boot from the cd ... and windows copies necessary files ... it asks for a restart ................ restart but dont boot from the cd then .. boot from the hard drive and the setup will continue to complete windows installation.

Yes I also get this error when I have a corrupt cd rom ... so replace your windows cd and try again.

You probably dont have your graphics card drivers ... install them and check again

Do the Windows 2000 emergency repair process ... it should work fine on windows xp ..

Let me search for an xp version of the solution ...

Just double click on the top of the task manager window ... it should get into full mode again.

Start in safe mode ..

Right click my computer .. go to properties -- advanced -- select startup and recovery settings -- uncheck automatically restart.

Restart in normal mode ... if there is a blue screen of death then let us know the error code its displaying ...

Do you want to install windows 2000 cleanly or just upgrade it to a new windows 2000 ??

That might not work. Windows would see you're not the right user for which those files belong to. You won't have permission. Even sticking the harddrive into another machine you won't be able to access them. You might be able to gain "ownership" of the files, but that doesn't always work. I tried that before and it was a major pain trying to get those files.

This only happens if the content of the profile has been encrypted ...

Just go to your c drive (in which windows is installed) -- documents and settings -- choose the user you want to copy files from -- open desktop folder and all the desktop items from that user account will be available to you ..

Have you checked the power cable going to the cd rom ?? does the light of the cd rom blink or it lights up ??

Doesn't sound good at all. If the system won't complete POST, and no changes have been made to components, then you may be confronted with a hardware failure. The system does POST but it displays the error I told you ... but anywayz if anyone could help here in the dead machines section...

does it say cpu fan failure? if it does,does yor pc come with a cpu fan?if not turn off cpu fan checking in advanced bios(f11)

Nope it says that cpu is unworkable or missing .... and when I press F1 it goes to windows booting ...

If you have a bootable cd of xp ...then you can boot from the cd and repair your installation.

Roll back will replace the drivers with the last installed drivers that were working fine ....

You should first roll back the drivers ... if the problem persists .. then you should uninstall drivers ... windows xp will install drivers automatically.

After you hit the "do a system scan only" button ... hijackthis will scan your system and display results .... there is a button "save log" under the results ... when you press it .. it'll ask you where to save the log file .... save it where you want to..

You mean the cd rom drive??

Uninstall the devices that have yellow exclamation marks in the device manager and restart ... windows xp will automatically reinstall the drivers if your sound card is plug n play ... and I hope it is ...

Another option can be to roll back the driver installations ...

I reset the bios settings to default ... removed the battery and tried again ... but to no avail ...

When I start a computer in my lab where I work ... it first detects all the drives ... and then it says the cpu is either unworkable or missing .....

When I press F1 ... it then starts loading windows ... but the windows restarts before reaching the login screen ... what should be the problem ??
