We ended support 2 years ago on such an app. Even so the issue I see in your post is you "copied" the app.exe. That never worked. Use the app's setup.exe installer to get all the components to install. This may or may not fix it but copying the app.exe hasn't worked for our apps for decades.

In the past, we would save what we had to a text file or some whale.c file (name should be what we can remember. Then in the old Turbo C++ I recall we could open the whale.c file and use Turbo C++'s own editor to copy and paste into another module or file.

I read your post multiple times and it's unclear what you are asking for. Also, what do you mean by "easily appear"?

I see the combo box which is "A combo box is a commonly used graphical user interface widget (or control). Traditionally, it is a combination of a drop-down list or list box and a single-line editable textbox, allowing the user to either type a value directly or select a value from the list."

Given the rather poor description of what you want to happen, I would be guessing badly. Try again but itemize your sequence of events and expected presentations and results.

Example:

  1. A combo box is on a form populated from a source.
  2. The user selects a value on the combo box.
  3. ON CHANGE of the combo box value present a dialog box with entry boxes for what? I can't tell here.
  4. What happens next?

I see the Question Solved? has been removed.

Now if this was my task I'd check out https://www.w3schools.com/jsref/met_win_focus.asp

This method makes a request to bring the current window to the foreground. It may not work as you expect in all browsers, due to different user settings.

But due to browser settings and how this works IRL you can NEVER EXPECT THIS TO WORK everywhere and everytime. Thank those that used this and other schenigans to pop adverts at folk.

This system is not one I've encountered. I had hope some other member would pile in with ideas but no one showed up.

If this was my task I'd look for prior examples as well as place debug output where I suspect the code is failing.

For many years I've seen trouble in development like this. Often the person who wants the app or script didn't provide what we used to call a SDD.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Software_design_description details it in full.

Yes, often the client wants to bypass such documents but without them we don't know what they want and you guessed it, we pass up on such work.

rproffitt 2,701 https://5calls.org Moderator

Your Youtube shows some adblockers and more. What I've learned is that can break sites and cause unexperienced users to melt down.

Maybe in your case you should try again but on some unvarnished Chomebook that you dedicate to your work and stay off Facebook or other social media sites.

rproffitt 2,701 https://5calls.org Moderator

That's some request. But that's not how this works. Here you do your own homework and if you are stuck you share what you can, explain a little what you think is wrong and we'll see if we can shed some light on the issue(s).

As you can guess you must show your efforts and point out why and where you think your code failed. If you are outsourcing then supply deeper details and pay.

I would be guessing why I would do this since I can install CUPS and be done by lunch time.
I'm reading https://www.raspberrypi.org/blog/printing-at-home-from-your-raspberry-pi/

rproffitt 2,701 https://5calls.org Moderator

Why would I do this? Is there pay for this work?

rproffitt 2,701 https://5calls.org Moderator

As a test I turned off my blocker.
www.daniweb.com
Trackers Blocked: 0
Requests Modified: 0
Page Load: 1.09 secs

Then I turned it on.
www.daniweb.com
Trackers Blocked: 2
Requests Modified: 2
Page Load: 0.91 secs

Seems they are right that this adds time so I think I'll leave it on for now.

That said, you can imagine other sites such as Yahoo that have dozens of trackers enabled and how much faster those sites work now.

rproffitt 2,701 https://5calls.org Moderator

Back to the top, my view is that net ratings is at best a guess because there is a more than double digit number of web users that block ads. This block from what I can tell always blocks the tracking pixel systems that a lot of these companies relied on. Yes they came up with new ways to block your web use and email too but the escalation continued and given where we are now I would not put much faith in these net rating companies.

But the people and companies that live and breath this data will tell each other it's worth it and talk it up. You may tell by now I'm not buying the story or company line.

When we were going to Asia, we would always have a copy of the Tails OS when we needed to get on the web or email. No one in the company would dare log into their bank while out of the country. We practiced the safest computer use we could.

rproffitt 2,701 https://5calls.org Moderator

The folk I know are mostly technical such as engineers, programmers, and so on. Either from military or surveillience industries so I'd put the number that install or turn on the ad blockers at close to 90%.

We use the native blocker or add apps like Ublock Origin, Ghostery, Facebook Container and similar.

Facebook Container is a new one that we are discussing since that company is a data hore.

What does it do?
Facebook Container works by isolating your Facebook identity into a separate container that makes it harder for Facebook to track your visits to other websites with third-party cookies.

rproffitt 2,701 https://5calls.org Moderator

I'm out of date but didn't tracking pixels and a lot of other tracking burn down with browsers implementing blocking for tracking?

The tracker blocker in Opera does exactly that. Block known online trackers like analytic scripts, tracking pixels and other methods of data collection.

Everyone I know turns on the blockers so doesn't this mean that a lot of the tracking data is, in short, garbage?

When you write a specification, you have to be detailed. I can't guess if the number 0 to 500,000 is used in the rgb values, pixel size or something else.

As to an editor writing code for you, that's still the future but Tabnine does help us a lot today.

Until you reveal where to display or use this number I will write that the Javascript timer is almost assured to be used to solve this.

rproffitt 2,701 https://5calls.org Moderator

Tell me where the value or 0 to 500,000 is going to be used? While I'm pretty sure this is not going to be done in c, c++, java or mysql (why all those tags?) I can't guess where this generated value is going to be used in your HTML.

As to the three minutes, I think I'd use a timer. Tutorial at https://www.w3schools.com/js/js_timing.asp

But that still leaves me to wonder where this number will be used.

Julia P. commented: I put those tags in because I'm still new to these topics. Isn't there an editor that allows me to animate the number easily? +0

I'd look at Rosettacode to build this app.

-> https://rosettacode.org/wiki/Miller–Rabin_primality_test

rproffitt 2,701 https://5calls.org Moderator

Since you have a production environment your team lead must provide how they handle this.

Remember I won't duplicate or create tutorials about Team Foundation Server use.

rproffitt 2,701 https://5calls.org Moderator

Clear screen in character based apps would have to know all the details to make it function. For ncurses work: https://linux.die.net/man/3/clear

For other OSes we look at what is in use. I haven't seen a pure DOS system in over 3 decades so there's always another way.
The compiler matters too.

If your code works and the class has not touched on security yet, you can get by for now with system().

rproffitt 2,701 https://5calls.org Moderator

I noted the problem with system(). No class today I know of would allow this since we must teach security from day one (or zero.)

Light reading about this at https://www.quora.com/Is-it-bad-to-use-system-command-in-C-code-blocks-compiler but they were being too kind.

I would have to guess you want a PHP certificate but would that be some software security cert, or maybe you taking a class and getting a token piece of paper that says you completed the course?

"I blocked the Netbook"
"How can I do to unlock the"

All the netbooks I've seen are now well over a decade old and never accepted for repair. These are replaced if the owner can't operate or fix the issue.

rproffitt 2,701 https://5calls.org Moderator

Why isn't this at your web site?

rproffitt 2,701 https://5calls.org Moderator

Small world. Old boy scout here with compass, map, backpack, medic kit, water, food, fire maker, light tent, etc. But hey, if you had all that a couple centuries ago they would call that technology!

rproffitt 2,701 https://5calls.org Moderator

A few issues.

  1. The code presented doesn't look like like any Python I've seen to date. Maybe you need to try again.
  2. Conversion is usually a line by line job. If you find you need a library function you either create or find it.
  3. Looking at sklearn alone it appears you have a year long project alone to implement that in C.

In short, hope you have the time to do this and my question must be: Why do this if it works in Python today?

rproffitt 2,701 https://5calls.org Moderator

I thought that gender today was not as important. But seeing where you are from, this:

  1. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LGBT_rights_in_Bangladesh
  2. https://www.hrw.org/world-report/2021/country-chapters/bangladesh#

Wow!

PS. Seems folk ask this question a lot. https://www.daniweb.com/programming/software-development/threads/464673/unable-to-pop-out-values-cpu-sim for example among the thousand others you find with a Google search.

Why can't you use the thousands of prior solutions?

Are you saying that digiexperts in the UK doesn't do this work?

Your topic title seems to tell me you need help.

rproffitt 2,701 https://5calls.org Moderator

You're in luck. https://rosettacode.org/wiki/Word_frequency has this implemented in not only C++ but over 60 other languages.

Given a text file and an integer n, print/display the n most common words in the file (and the number of their occurrences) in decreasing frequency.

Q. Why didn't you get vaccinated?
A. Because I makes liberals mad.

I'm not mad but concerned that you could create a new viral strain. Between ant-maskers and anti-vaxxers this may be with us for a very long time.

This just in and they want to write/say fake news: "99% of hosptilations and deaths by COVID-19 are now composed or the unvaccinated."

Still don't want vaccines? I think Gareth put it so well:

At 276 lines long I won't read all that. Tell us what you think the issue or problem is, then where in this code to look.

PS. I see you used system(). http://www.cplusplus.com/articles/j3wTURfi/ and many other artilces note why this is never a good idea. In fact I think this alone should warrant a failing grade on the assignment. Teach security from day one!

Frankly that's a very poor software specification. Maybe this is homework and you have more details but here few write your code.
