Bought my son a Sony Viao laptop for college. Heard that keyboards were the weakest link Got him cordless mouse and keyboard. Both recently stopped working. Mouse still works. XP is password protected at login. Can't figure out how to get him past login to delete keyboard drivers etc. Found you guys thru Google search and read all the ideas but all seem to rely on functioning keyboards. He's on a baseball scholarship and has zero time to research this stuff. Not to mention he has to use college computers to do so. Help would be greatly appreciated.

Jump to PostDoes it work before the login window (black screen / logo bit just after the BIOS)? try hitting f8 on the laptop keyboard repeatedly at that point and choosing safe mode. Hopefully at that point windows will still be using the default drivers.
