I cannot open anything on my computer without being redirected to a program asking me to choose an appropriate program to open it.
i cannot open any exe on my PC does anybody know why or how can the be fixed?

maybe this will work http://www.dougknox.com/xp/file_assoc.htm its for Xp but may work for Vista, back up your registry before making changes.

Or you cold try repairing Vista with the installation CD or maybe a system restore partition.
