Hello There , I have just re installed my windows 98se . It kept crashing constantly . I have managed to get things up and running except I can't get the 256 colours in my display settings that I used to have . When I go into displey settings it will only let me choose either two colors or 16 colours . This driving me crazy plese help .

You need to identify what display card or onboard video you have in that PC and load the device drivers for it. If the device drivers are already loaded correctly you may have missed loading the motherboard chipset drivers. windows 98 by itself doesn't correctly identify and install all components.
